All I can say is that you’re as close to the truth as ever right now. The fundamental belief in Islam is not appreciating the existence of God itself, but the rejection of all the other types of gods that we called “God”, as in the syahadah. When we say that there is no god but God, we are basically half atheistic, which is perfectly fine. Our tenancy to over glorify the powers of the human brain is a normal egoistic human characteristic, because we are the creature that rule this world. We are the ones who makes things happen. Things that we’re not in control of, is well, just a coincidence and the randomness of nature. But, the biggest difference about non believing and Islam is this: the muslims, and most of the believers of other faiths believes that there’re order in this randomness, that things does not simply fall in place as random as we thought it could be, and as far is Islam goes, that this order in the randomness simply explains that there is a God. try referring to surah 13 verses 2-4 as an example. In that verses, Allah tries to explain that there is indeed order in our perceived thought of the randomness of nature, and that order is His way to explain His powers, and His existence, and that the randomness that brought us to the verge of being a non believer, actually brings us closer to being a believer. There are basically a whole lot more of the examples of that kind in the Quran. You can google it up and see. I am not expert, but that’s just my two cents. |
